He came from a large family with not a lot of money, but was first in his family to attend and graduate from college. He saw to it that each of his 14 nieces and nephews also had opportunities to attend college, and of course, my brother and I. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t have been able to really focus on what I needed to focus on early in my career…especially in the sports and entertainment industry where I worked a LOT and was paid very little.
